The Houlden Report for October 10, 2017
The Houlden Report for October 10, 2017 (Dead set against AT&T)
Recently I decided to switch to charter cable from AT&T for my internet service provider. The service for charter was fantastic. However,AT&T bit the big one after 9 years with them. even after the call to end the service with AT&T,they still charged an exceedingly hard amount of cash to the bill and refused to lower it to make it easier to pay off.Considering that I have this bill for charter now. The only downside to charter is this.. when the cable goes,so does the internet,TV,and phone. This is alarming because even in an emergency when power goes out, through AT&T,the phone is still active and you can call out.. as with Charter, you can't. However, on the other hand, the calls are clearer and there is no static in the calls.
The Billing is roughly equaled a minimum of roughly 90 dollars was on the last AT&T bill (for basic phone service and internet @ 5MPS up) while Charter charged $107.00 a month for low end internet (being clocked @ 60 MPS up) . Now if you ask me,it is pretty crappy that AT&T would charge nearly the same for just 5MB per second connection and piss poor calls all while refusing to ease up on their billing forcing the customer to pay out more for far less service on household wiring that was left over from the 1970s.
If you choose AT&T as your ISP,I feel bad for you. They attempt to corner the market to also include TV and do what the cable companies are doing, all through the old wiring. Copper wire wears out after 10 years. If you are in a building that was built in the 70s and ask to be connected through AT&T,you are more likely prone to bad connections and Bad equipment.Hence,They only want your money for only the basic stuff on poor wiring and refuse to replace all the wiring for you.
To me this does not bode well at all.It forces many to "Cut the cord" .. I still cut the cord when it comes to TV and i use my cell phone as my primary phone.Still,I think that AT&T does give the customers a Bum Rap and you will not get more Bang for your buck.
They get an all time rating from me @ a 2 star (10 being my highest) and charter gets an 8 star.
This ends my Houlden report for this day.
Hope to write the next one soon
Keep your head up,
Mike
