Anatomy of a security hole – the break that broke sudo | Naked Security: Well,it seems that even Unix has some security malfunctions. Are Hackers telling the UNIX community that in order to be safe,No one should ever use ROOT/ADMINISTRATOR priveledges? I do sorta wonder about that (Being both a Window$ user and a Linux/Ubuntu User). It seems nobody is ever safe online.I don't mind opening up a command prompt in ubuntu and typing the following : sudo apt-get /autoclean /purge && apt-get update /all just to get my updates from the repository and clean my drive a bit. or even opening up a command prompt in windows : defrag c: /U /X just to iron out everything. But when hackers break into a code Made to be clean (and many open source communities will agree here) and safe,Hackers are trying to break code and access local machines by breaking SUDO.This is just mean spirited. I wonder if they will try to break Linux next. All things are now possible unless there is a way to strengthen SUDO and make it where these codes are debugged by reputable sources before installing them on their devices.
