The Houlden Report 11-25-08

Well,I have fully installed the newest Ubuntu /Linux Version 8.10 which is Intrepid Ibex and I can honestly say that I am Amazed.It Performs better then the previous version which was version 8.04 Hardy Heron.(which ran like a scalded Hound) (Better then what i can say for window$ Vista and Xpee.

Don't get me wrong,I do like Xpee (to a point) I do not like how Xpee phones to microshaft every time you turn around. And,there are the constant Updates that are futile to operating window$.It's like "well,if you don't download me,and allow me to fill up your hard drive with trash,then I will make certain you get hacked".. type of attitude.
Not a good thing at all.There ARE other options that window$ won't tell you of.Like there is over 300 distros of Linux,there is also some free versions of SUN Solaris around too to check out.Sounds like fun :)
But i am finding out that Ubuntu is definately going somewhere.If You want to have fun snubbing microshaft,switch on over and give this distro a try.You will be amazed by this distro.On a scale from 1 to 10,i give ubuntu a 9 (5 star Rating). go to http://www.ubuntu.com and order your FREE CD of it...
