The HOULDEN Report for Sunday October 23,2016

The HOULDEN Report for Sunday October 23,2016 time 5:08 EST

Linux gains 2% of desktops in the market of computing.I think it is wonderful.
Many of the Linux sites have been reporting that stat.I might as well be one.
The hardest thing Linux has ever done was to make a desktop be LINUX based and to gain market shares. In my own personal opinion, any gains is better then none.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As of late,I have been working on a couple HP Vectra XM series 4 5/166 machines for a client of mine. This was an en-devour that i have been doing for a few years. These Machines are ancient. They use these to test the waters of Lake Michigan. Well the client ran them to me last week, and I sold him two IBM XP machines 20.00 each. then he explained that he messed up a hard drive.Well,I put it on my bench and began work when I hear a "Clunk, clunk clunk-clunk and clunk" sound. They client Blew the drive. The HDD wasn't working at all.Well finally I managed to swap a HDD from the other machine and got it going again.Took several days. The operating system on these machines was windows 3.1 with MS-DOS 6.2 (not a bad combination really) all running smoothly. So in my opinion, windows 3.1 never really crashed.. win 95 up always crashed...lol well this closes the HOULDEN report for now.. Good day
