The Houlden Report for 9-29-12

This seems to be an interesting one.Long ago on this blog,I did praise Linux Ubuntu for being an easy OS to install (This was way back in 2008) and now I will also add another OS That I personally had seen grow from its origins from the 1978 Apple DOS and Pro DOS,to the sOS on the Apple Lisa,to Mac OS 7.0.1 (1991 Mac 128MB). Granted,I know that the Mac was Steve Jobs' Baby but he did usher in a whole new breed of product for Apple.

I admit in 2003,I was a skeptic about the iPod and how apple wanted to corner the whole user experience. This was until i heard about Copyright infringement of tunes you shared via limewire (a one time fave of mine).Microsoft was releasing their ZUNE which wasn't as good but the iPod took off.I am proud to say i own TWO iPods . The first one being from 2004 and was distributed through Hewlett-Packard for their Pavilion computer running windows XP. The second,an iPod Touch with iOS 5.0.1 on it.I love it.

And seeing that I am up to snuff with the latest offerings from Apple, iOS 6 was recently announced for release for the iPhone 5 (which shows a dismal disappointment for those who are using the iPhone 4S ) There really isn't much of a change except the pixelation of both cameras.Aside from that,No real changes were made (at least none that anyone can notice).Another change Apple announced was the website where you get all of your nice cool aps ... The Apple Ap Store.

Recently i was in a discussion personally about how the apple iStore is planning on forcing everyone to the new iOS 6.I guess it was something like CUIDS or DUIDS being discontinued for digital ID from the device.I also saw that "ANONYMOUS" leaked out about nearly 3000 (roughly) CUIDS listing all of apple's devices, who owns them, what they have on them, etc.  That is just wrong. And what was even worse? those CUIDs were on an FBI Laptop that was stolen.Well when the FBI was asked about it,they denied having lost a laptop.

Surely you would have to excuse me from giggling but honestly any time a federal agency is involved in a goof-up like loosing a laptop,I have to wonder whether or not these folks have half a brain.Apple denied any leaks to anyone especially the FBI. I would have to believe Apple because Apple has a history of being tight lipped ( a trait developed by kit computer makers back in the 1970s).

I still own my Apple ][ computers. In fact,I own two of them so,mind you, anything I write about an apple product, would have some solid weight because i run them.I use my Apple iPod touch with iOS 5 every day.
I did run into a snag trying to tether My iPod Touch to my LG Flare cell phone through the Bluetooth connection but all in all,i have fun running that iPod. I do plan on tethering my iPod touch to the LG Flare sometime soon and will report on my success with that project. I hope i will be successful because it means i can be online anywhere, anytime and in places where there isn't a internet connection. No More being connected to a wall outlet for a internet connection.

Soon,I will not have an internet connection at home.Reason is that I am leaving AT&T to their own demise and am switching to Virgin Mobil / Sprint PCS so when I am able to get back on,i will let everyone know.Till then,I will write offline and report (In full) how i am coming along with the USB modem attached to a router and then being able to connect via the G3 and G4 networks.

These are just up and coming plans that are going to happen within days.I hope i could get back online to do these reports. All we can do is cross our fingers and pray.Till Then,This will be the Houlden Report for 9-29-2012 see ya  .......  Mike
