BBC News - Ubuntu's Mark Shuttleworth on shaking up system software: Wow it appears that Mark Shuttleworth is trying to make UBUNTU more competitive in the OS wars.This is a major first for the Open source operating system Maker.I have used Ubuntu (and even own several versions of it),and can tell you that it does out perform Apple's Mac OS and Windows.Part of the reason is that the only thing that can't be altered (without written consent from Linus Torvalds) is the linux kernel.The rest of it,can be added too or removed and/or redesigned.Here is the article..
